New Jersey SORA Certification
In New Jersey, security guards are regulated under the Security Officer Registration Act (SORA), which requires licensing through the New Jersey State Police. While not required before applying, obtaining a SORA certification can help streamline your hiring process.
Key SORA Requirements:
✔️ Must be at least 18 years old
✔️ Valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
✔️ Completion of a 24-hour SORA training course
✔️ Fingerprint-based background check
✔️ No disqualifying criminal convictions
✔️ Renewal required every two years
